Not much traffic on the streets...

...even for a Sunday in May.

Supposedly there are a bunch of folks driving in circles on the west side of town, though.

Watching the race now for the first time in decades, this time in 720p. Looks good! They're showing all the commercials in a split-screen with the race. THAT is new! Used to be that the advertiser "owned" the screen and speakers for 30 seconds.

There sure are a lot of cars on the track, but everybody seems concerned about the one driven by the chick!

Call me when they adopt the odd numbers clockwise, even numbers-counterclockwise format. It would a short race, I'm sure, but interesting.

So how did you do at the M1 shoot?

I didn't come in last, thanks to the valiant sacrifice of three other shooters!

(Who knew that you needed a mat and a spotting scope and a weird jacket and glove to shoot zombies at 100 yards?)

pdb, that's even better when they're racing old school buses.

I get a kick out of Danica, the "Little Chicklet". She's cool. I watched some of her races back in the Forumla Atlantic days, and she put some moves on guys that were like the old Butch/Sunddance bit: "I can't do that! How can she do that?"

She'd likely win more if she were more aggressive in traffic, but then she doesn't eat the wall all that much. Concrete ain't Christian; it's unforgiving.

Gotta be happy for Helio, though. Beating both the IRS and the Indy odds in a month? Helluva deal.

Danica hasn't won yet, but she's started in the top third every year, even as a rookie.

I'll bet she cussed herself for the pit stop screwup. (For those who didn't see it, she stopped her car about three feet too far forward in the pit. The crew had to push it back to service it, costing Patrick 4 places and about 4 seconds. She finished third, about 3 seconds behind the winner.)
