Overheard in the Office:

RX: "The FBI investigated the Monkees?"

Me: "Of course. They were said to be monkeying around."

RX: "The investigation concluded that they were too busy singing to, quote, 'put anybody down'."

Auuuuuuggggghhhh! (And applause, albeit rueful.)

Are you here all week, and should we try the veal?

Interesting. The FBI felt that most of the material needed to be redacted.

One wonders just what embarrassing federal paranoia was covered by those black magic marker scribbles.

The Monkees: Threat or Menace?

Personally, I think Mike Nesmith was Jedger's Paid Informant. It could explain why he never joined up for the Reunion Tours.

Les,

I think Mike Nesmith was the target. He was the one with the tuque, which is Canadian, which is foriegn, which anti-american, which is Markist, which proves he is an enemy of the state.

I rest my case.

The document was too heavily redacted to tell for sure. Did Oswald act alone, what is at Roswell, were the Monkees Monkeeing around. We may never know...

Well, Davy Jones did quit horsing around before the Monkees. Supposedly.

Then there was the inter-generational animosity toward the "young generation" with "something to say".

There really really needs to be a Tam and Roberta podcast made up of everyday around the house musings like this, I'd subscribe.
