Prepare to geek out.

LiberalCCW (after admittedly fair warning) provided linkage to this bunch of RC geeks with way more time and money than sense of perspective. It turns out that if you take bundles of hundred-dollar bills, shred them finely, and apply great pressure over time, the result is amazingly detailed 1/4 scale tanks. With movies.

I haven't seen such neato grownup toys since I stumbled across R/C model warship combat on the 'net.

Very cool.

Now if the gun barrels would not vibrate and bounce so much it would be really hard to tell in some shots.

Hmmmm, 88mm @ 1/6 scale = 14.7mm
25.4mm to the inch= .577

Very cool.

I see a whole new avenue of amusement here.

Well, if you are ever out in seattle or spokane, wa and want to see some warship combat, there are folks here who do that.

Baby, you ain't seen nothin' yet!

There's a whole order of geek magnitude in model JET flying. See a couple of Germans, Kamps and Schreckling developed the first microturbines.

Which cost ( for a commercial version) about $2000-$5000 and look like this

You then put it in an extremely detailed model and plow it into the ground like this

and this

Note that the last one cost more than my car in motors alone! In the first segment those tears HAVE to be real. I bet he never flies again.

I want a scale model Sherman to go with those Tigers complete with a scale model Donald Sutherland atop the turret spouting a few fun prerecorded Oddballisms.

The 1/4 scale Tiger is just great! It would look totally realistic if a dampener installed on the cannon as in my 1/10 Jagdpanther. Then you would not get so much jiggling of the 88. Also the turret is way too fast.
