I spent 6 years in the Navy and have been a lover of all phrases nautical as long as I can remember and I had never heard the sun over the yardarm bit. I love it.
Try some of this; it will completely change your feelings about carrots for breakfast.
That's BRUNCH :-) Carrots are okay for brunch...
Carrots are OK for carrot cake. Carrot cake is OK for any time of day.
Breakfast-in-a-wok is what I'm having difficulty with. I'm thinking migas.
So if Carrots aren't Breakfast food, does that mean Bugs Bunny likes Bacon? If so, Porky better watch his back!

Ed wrote almost word-for-word what I was thinking. That said, many times have carrots ended up in my migas, because they're included in the escabeche in the jalapenos that I buy by the gallon and decant into quart jars. Come on-- carrots pickled in the brine that jalepenos, onions, and bay have marinated in for weeks makes for root veggies with a kick, you know?
Gotta agree with Matt G on the hot carrots; they're good stuff. I also pickle baby carrots in brine and vinegar with a bit of garlic and arbol chile.
