Good way to put it. I always thought the CAR15/XM177-style collapsible stock (you kids get off my lawn!) was stupid until I realized it allowed Mrs Drang, a foot shorter than I, to have adjust the length of pull to suit her on the same rifle I was just shooting.
I think it was seeing footage of soldiers adjusting the M4s for house-to-house, versus Marines having to "short-stock" their M16s.
