Mother Nature made another half-hearted attempt at snow here in Knoxville. They had diligently brined every square inch of blacktop in the city and, since it didn't get below freezing 'til after midnight, not much stuck.
Still, the Subie had a good ice crust that needed scraping, and the 33 Fahrenheit degrees we had at midnight are all the degrees we'll be getting here. They'll be removing them in onesies and twosies all day until we only have three left at midnight tonight.
It's a good day to be indoors.
Hey, is that old Colt for sale?

While you're there, would you please pass on that yet one more customer from far, far away has perused their web site and found it to be rather well-done.
TAC sure does have a comprehensive list of arms that the gunsmith won't work on, and looking at the list I sure can't blame him. However, is there a reason why the Remington 740 wasn't on the list? Back in my days behind the counter (mid-late 80s) we had a standing policy to never accept a 740, among the many others on the TAC list.
I had to look closer at your top photo. With the rural scene, road running next to the tracks, it looked a lot like a stretch of Route 4 between Canaan and Andover. The rails in the similar Granite-state scene have been removed from most of it now, but for a minute there I thought you might be visiting Maj. Caudill (Ret) again.
Enjoy your trip.
Is that the place that used to be Coal Creek? I stopped in there and tried out a couple of their rental guns once, after you had mentioned how close it was to the TA truck stop.
It was -17, wind chill -37 when I left work this AM. Like a guy on one of the fora tags, "Nobody retires and moves north.."
so what does this gunsmith work on? he's left out 90% of what the shooting public owns.
Mother nature is have fun here. 56 degrees on the way to work yesterday. 0 this morning.
It's like she's purposely trying to expand the cracks in my driveway.
Wow. CCA surely has changed a lot. Hopefully for the better :).
Don't you go changing, though! :D
