That is one fine revolver. The first N-frame I ever toted was a 4-inch Model 28. The slightly shorter barrel on the older 27s seemed to work even better for me. It is not fun not having one any more.
I despise the full-lug barrels S&W puts on revolvers these days. Pistol whipping went out of vogue a few decades back, and I don't like all the weight out forward.
