Stimulated.

"Buoyed by the joyous news of Barry's 'Magic Unicorn Stimulus Plan', America gets out of stocks and gets into more stable investments like canned vegetables, toilet paper, and .22 Long Rifle ammunition..."

If only you can find .22LR. I visited a couple of stores looking for .45ACP and .22LR. Local gun store? On order, place order or check back later. Wally World? Out and out. Sporting goods chain? 1 box of .45 ball and a little variety in .22. I took the last of the .45 (thankfully I keep a couple of boxes of JHP for Justin) and the rest of their CCI .22LR Mini-Mag.

I just dumped another 525 rounds of Remington into my ammo can. It's heavy now.

I've been enjoying the financial snark these last few days, but in this post, the graph doesn't present that big of a deal, if you look at the scale on it.

If you look at the point scale, no. The time scale, OTOH...

Take your daughter to Wally World with you. At least it worked at ours. While shopping for other stuff we stopped by the gun counter to see if they had any 22LR in. They hadn't for several weeks. The lady behind the counter looked down and said "Sorry all out."

I shugged and told my daughter "Oh well, maybe next time." as we started to walk away.

The lady stopped us and asked my daughter "He's buying ammo to take you out shooting?"

When my daughter nodded afirmative the lady grabbed a clipboard scanned the list on it and told me "I should have some 550 count boxes of Federal 22LR arriving on wednesday evening. Give me to about 9:30 that night to get it inventoried"

We thanked her and I went back at 9:45 PM on Wednesday and bought all 10 boxes she had in the shipment.

I've always made a practice of buying either a brick of .22rf or a thousand primers a month, wrapping them in tinfoil, taping them, writing the contents and date on said tape, and dropping it into a ziplock down in the cellar.

When I find myself with more than 7 or 8 bricks of .22 rf, I know it's time for a major shooting session.
Likewise the primers. They do you a lot more good in brass than in the box. Although I might start hoarding primers, loading up my shooting stuff with anything more than 2 years old.

I also scored massive amounts of linotype, just about the perfect alloy for really hard rifle bullets. Also .45acp, which doesn't like soft lead. And a four cavity mold for 225 gr. .451 dia. bullets.

I figure 5,000 pistol bullets and 2,000 rifle bullets in a weekend of casting, first warm days of April.

When the pistol mold gets so hot the bullets start to frost, I put it down to cool and switch to the rifle mold, and back again. All on the Coleman stove outdoors, with a nice breeze blowing the fumes away from me.

You want stable investments? How many G.I. ammo cans of 225 gr. roundnose do you need for a down payment?

Obama is not a fool. He knows the stock market will tank, the economy will fail and the unemployment rate will skyrocket. Then, to save America, he will sieze businesses and put people to work for the government owned companies "temporarily" until the former owners learn how to "properly" manage their businesses. The former owners will, of course, never learn.

Last time I was in WalMart some cowboy right ahead of me bought out all the Federal bulk packs of .22LR. Nice fella, he offered me one. I was down to about 10k at home so politely refused. This last time, Sunday, they were restocked and I bought 5 more bricks.

I don't know why this comes to mind now, but it does.

A firearms instructor I had some years ago named Sgt. Boger once gave our class his currency conversion rate for "the day after." It was one box of .22 LR for one 17 year old virgin.

Several of us thought that was really funny at the time. Today, however, if Boger is still alive and working as an instructor, I bet he doesn't get quite as many giggles when he uses that line. I expect he probably gets more nods and grunts of agreement.

Ben--and I mean this in the nicest possible way--if you think .22LR is getting hard to find...

I buy out whatever 22 LR they have in stock at Wally World when I visit.

PS... I found 3 of the mythical 25 rnd Papoose mags, mint, last Saturday. They were in the case at the counter when I was looking at .22 mags on the wall while checking out at a place I normally never stop at.

Gmac

wv = sanses, which I almost lost seeing the mags.

I've got about 3000 rounds of regular .22 rimfire ammo and another 5000 rounds of subsonic .22 rimfire.

I also have 1100 rouns of 10mm ammo for my 1911. Ammo's worth its weight in gold right now.

I heard that the Democraps want the economy to tank so that they can move us towards the New World Order of one global banking institution. America will no longer have sovereignty and we'll be controlled by tyrants and dictators. Like hell it will...

If I had a 17-yr old virgin to offer...

Looks to me like they've managed to stimulate it right into the ground. Stretch the baseline back to 1982 and see how it looks.
