I'm off to take a stomping.
I'm off to the shooting range, where I am going to get pwnt at an M1 Carbine match. My objective for the day: Don't come in last place.

T'was shooting an M1 carbine in a 100 yd "gas gun" shoot at my old club when I adjusted windage the wrong way, walking my rounds right instead of left, off the paper.
[sigh]
A bad day shooting a carbine is better than the best day at the office - but that one was close.
So, where did you fine carbine ammo, and can I have some ?
I was shooting an old '03 Springfield match gun belonging to a buddy's uncle.
I fired a sighter from prone, and my buddy Gary, on the scope, said "Give me another". I did, followed by a third. He suggested I not mess with the sights, as I had three pinwheels dead center in the V ring.
I proceeded to look really good, until the knob on the ladder sight, which I'd forgotted to tighten, slipped, and the sight bar slipped a bit lower with each shot. I wish I'd twigged to it before I'd thrown away a hundred plus points. Nobody to blame but myself. Dang.
Don't forget, "The barrel band must have been slipping." That might be true particularly if the carbine has the 1/2" Type 1 band.
Now, was there any need for excuses? How did you finish?
Hey! That sounds like FUN. I want to shoot my 1943 GM M1 carbine in a match. It's a ringer, even after having spent half a century with the Israelis before I got it. (Damn I'd love to hear that carbine tell me some stories.)
Hard to shoot those little guns and get good position. Good luck. What's the course of fire?
40 round match: 10 slow fire prone, 10 rapid fire prone, 10 rapid fire sitting, 10 slow fire offhand.
