Christmas shopping at Brownell's?

A little birdie has told me that Montezuma, IA is getting socked by global warming right now, and Brownell's is pretty short-handed today as a result. If you're doing last-minute gift shopping, using their website today will probably be more fruitful than the telephones...

It's winter in Iowa
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love Iowa
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Iowa
I'm frozen to the frigging ground!

Minneapolis seems to be north of the main storm track. We have some snow and wind, but it is not what I would call a major winter storm, so far.

I have something on a Fedex truck that left Memphis yesterday. It should be in the middle of the mess in Iowa by now. With those double trailer wiggle wagons those guys drive, I don't envy that Fedex driver at all.

We have about a foot of snow here, south of Omaha...... And I am frantically sending carbon up the wood stove chimney trying to accelerate planetary warming...... all I have succeeded in doing is getting our family room up to a toasty 80 degrees. I'm sweating.... Well, hell.... sacrifices must be made! Another log on the fire, Eldest!

Grandkids in Nebraska say they will have to wait on the plow. Dad's relatives in Ia say it's the worst blizzard in living memory. Mom's relatives on the Res say it's seriously bad.

Ain't global warming wonnerful, jus wonnerful.

Somehow, we got left out of global warming. Here, in the so-called banana belt of southern Colorado, it was 12 below zero this morning.
