Full Court Press.

While nobody is ice skating on the frozen Thames anymore, neither are barelegged Romans tending their vineyards in Yorkshire, so anybody who says they know what temperature this place is supposed to be is emitting greenhouse gasses of the potent and smelly kind when they speak.

Remember: Science is never "settled". If it's settled, it ain't science.

I think it is "settled" that AGW is a scam.

Truer words...

I remember the difficulty I had in trying to explain to my physics lab classmates why we were going through all the trouble of confirming that gravity runs at 9.8 m/s2.

"But everybody knows that!"

"Well you don't. You're just going on what the textbook says. We're here to prove it to ourselves."

"But everybody knows that!"

"Ahhhhh, forget it..."

And in the right-hand, uncircled column of your graphic: "This is not a scientific poll." That's the understatement of the week, and the sentence is true in several ways.

On a related issue, I'm thinking of answering a scientific question by posting a poll for the general public: "Do you believe that 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin toxicity is a proven fact caused by its propensity to bind to cytochrome C oxidase?" Or not?

I'll take "How Science Isn't Done" for a hundred, Alex.
