State police Sgt. Kim Riley says nothing suspicious was found at the site about 40 miles north of Lafayette and foul play wasn't suspected."Nothing suspicious" other than a couple of dead guys, that is.
I don't know about you, but I find a couple of stiffs, I'm assuming they didn't die of freakishly simultaneous heart attacks.

English, like math, can be hard, when done properly.
I am assuming, of course, that she meant that nothing to cause suspicion was found there, and spoke in the vernacular.
Zees is common in ze animal keengdom. A pair of bulls will engage one anozer in zee mortal combat, clashing zeir horns together until one is keeled or limps off wounded. One can often hear ze sounds of zees combat coming from parked SUV's or ze bazroom stalls in ze public restrooms. Occsionally, zough, ze horns become hopelessly intertwined, and ze bulls often starve to deaz attempting in vain to extricate zemselves. it is all part of ze circle of life.

wv: Swardom. Not going there.
I'm gonna be weeks getting an awful mental picture out of my head now, thanks. ;)
"Riley tells the Journal & Courier that that the deaths appear to be a coincidence."
Two dead bodies on the same property?
Coincidence?
Someone is trying to avoid the paperwork of a murder investigation.
"I'm gonna be weeks getting an awful mental picture out of my head now, thanks. ;)"
it's what I live for. ;)
Well, that "not breathing" stuff is indeed dangerous, and you can die from it. I suppose the 2nd guy did something similar to Mr. "not breathing" and also ended up dead.
They could have both been hit by the same low flying safe.
These things just happen.
We may well be discrediting the SP Sergeant, and over-crediting the journalist, too.
One more stiff, and I'd be looking for buckets of Kool Aid.
I read the link. It seems some officers feel positively OBLIGATED to make SOME sort of statement to the news. If SGT Riley worked for me, he'd need to write a helluva report to justify that quote.
I had a comment on this thread before it evaporated. It was a good comment, well, good coming from me, based upon comparison with other comments I have made over time.
Now said comment is gone. And I can't recall exactly what I wrote, and why I knew it was a good comment, at least good coming from me.
I want me some credit. And not them darn "nerd points" awarded on the post a few slots earlier regarding Monty Python.
As near as I can remember, my comment was something about that "not breathing" thing being a normal cause of death, and hence not suspicious, or some such.
Death is perfectly natural.
Call animal control to have the bodies removed ... XD.
Ditto what JPG said.
Seeing stiffs is stressful to a lot of people, so one guy having a heart attack and someone else who finds the body having another a few minutes after finding it.. isn't as improbable as it may seem.
Still... it is weird and deserves investigation..
