Huck is pretty fearless and quite willing to tackle foes many times his size. The other day, for instance, when he was pacing the office floor restlessly and mewing incessantly because it was 37.5 minutes 'til dinner time, I made an aggressive palm-outward shooing/get-back motion towards his face with my hand.
Most cats will scurry away from that; instead, Huck leaped at my hand, which I barely got out of the way of flailing paws and gaping maw. "Yay! A fight!"
The last thing he needs is a suit of armor.

I've been thinking of trying to capture our one eyed kitty on video and posting on You Tube.
She frequently does the bow up, poof tail sideways walk at me stuff. Quite amusing.
If you did buy him a suit of armor, you could call him Sir Purrcival.
Would you be willing to let Huck play with an armored guinea pig?

I like the Japanese armor... Samurai Hucku!
Lord Huckmungus needs only a colander for his face and a spikey cod-piece.
A) I want to see you measure him for proper fitting.
B) I want to see you get him into the armor.
C) I'm blood type O+ if you need a transfusion from performing A and B.
Armoring the tail is a little much. A lopped tail should be the sign of an "alter Kämpfer."
Folks, forget about up-armoring Huck. Cat is in no way interested in any sissified "protection", he's a berserker. Plate would just slow him down.

All I can think of is "Mouseguard LARP." But I really don't want to type that phrase into google.
You just have to convince him that the armor is like a cardboard box that fits really well.
1. Wow, those are beautiful!
2. How do you find this stuff?
3. Um, if the cats are facing mice with those back-mounted lance thingies, shouldn't the armor have better ventral (and gorget-type) protection rather than looking a bit like barding?

Wow. Just....wow. and methinks Stretch wins on this thread so far....and do they even MAKE that stuff big enough to fit Sir Huck?
Huck = reincarnated Moro warrior?
Um, I think if you fitted this stuff to any normal cat, and they figured out it's major advantages, then the mouse would not be the prey of choice.
I'd worry about the dog.

gvi, I loved that book. "He works great wonders through sheer annoyance."
But did Huck scream before he leapt?
You have read some of the Samurai Cat books, haven't you?
+1 on the Samurai Cat books. Out of print, often hard to find, and/or somewhat pricey these days, but worth the effort.
"But did Huck scream before he leapt?"
If he did, he will require a gallon of shrimp-flavored icecream to be placated.
There's no amount of armour a cat can wear that a big dog can't bite through...
I'd ditch the armour and go for speed and agility.
