A phenomenon I have noticed...

How come you'll have a guy obviously on a budget with, say, a Hi Point in an $8 sausage sack flopping off his JC Penneys canvas belt...

And it'll be stuffed with $5/round sintered Nytrillium* prefragmented ammo that came in a blister pack with pictures of rappelling ninjas on it.

These will be polished like the family silver and never fired. I assume each and every badly set-back one will be accounted for at his deathbed and handed down to Cletus Jr., or something.

"POA/POI? What's that?"

*You won't find "Nytrillium" on your periodic table because it's an alloy, composed of 20% Hype and 80% BS...

For much the same reason you find nice after-market stereos in older Trans Ams.

I thought you could farm Nytrillium Ore in the Dread Wastes?

Nytrillium is on my periodic table. But I can't show it to you, you're not cleared.

*sigh* I need to cycle out some of my carry ammo (.380 and 9mm in particular). Some of mine dates back to Obama's first term.

I just have trouble bying stuff at around $1 a round (Golden Saber is my preference) when I can buy 1,000 primers for not much more and practice, practice, practice.

When the drought got really bad I loaded up a bunch of 9mm 124gr XTPs but I know reloads aren't the preferred route for self defense.

Thankfully I do have a good enough supply of high end .45 I can afford to cycle it out once a year.

Cuz gawd forbid ya practice with that high dollar ammo and waste it. Or even practice at all.

Pot metal gun, meet pot metal ammo!

My .44spl carry fodder may be qualified to vote... hmm, perhaps I should ponder refreshing it? Decisions, decisions...
Hate to break up the set, I bought it at the same time I bought my Commemorative Son Of Sam revolver, IIRC. The brass has taken on a very pleasing patina, giving it that nicely aged appearance to match the hardware of the shoulder rig.

80% BS and 20% Hype? That's to ensure the wounds from the ammunition get infected *really* *really* fast...

I like that idea, TriggerFinger.
Perhaps I ought to fabricate a weapon that projects komoda dragon saliva.

Gelled puffer-fish toxin in in the hollow point?

Why have I never thought of that before?

I must be bucking the trend. My Hi-Point is fed the cheapest wadcutters as little money as possible can buy.

You know, if they would bundle the gun, holster, and Tacti-Ninja ammo into an endcap blister pack, they could double the asking price and sunstantially increase the bottom line. ;-)

A little phosphorus in the hollow points never goes out of style, and is much cheaper.

It is getting about time for us to cycle out our carry ammo as well. Of course, when I started carrying a Performance Center, I just stuffed it with whatever hollow points my retired detective friend gave me since he no longer carries his .357 Mag. Most of it was .38+p Nyclads, from before they were discontinued. Don't worry though. That stuff has long since been cycled through.
