Quote of the Day:

"There's no shame in the world, and without shame, you cannot have honor. Our world is ruled by consensus now. There is no sense of honor." -John Milius

The last rugged individualist in Hollywood gives a heck of an interview.

That article just kept hitting on movies that this guy has done that I really liked.
Never even knew his name before.

I have a feeling the only reason that interview saw the light of day was his throwaway line criticizing Rush Limbaugh.

I also love his incredibly poorly formatted interview here at IGN. It made me want to watch films again.

Hey, I criticize Rush Limbaugh. He's just Howard Stern for people with mortgages.

"Red Dawn", The Wind & the Lion", "Rough Riders" How can anyone not like those? All Classics. All John Milius.

Good article, Tam. Thanks for linking it.

I saw an interview on YouTube with Sydney Pollack, the director of Jeremiah Johnson, who said that Milius really wanted to make that movie a bloodbath, with liver-eating a prominent feature. As much as I love that movie, maybe it would have been even better if Milius had had his way.

Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly are neither conservative, nor people who have the gun-owner's back. They are just commentators who are using their brash talk to make a buck off our misery.

And the depth of their intellectualism is shallower than their gene pool.

I doesn't matter. The YSM still doesn't get the fact that Rush Limbaugh is only an ideological leader inasmuch as people share some of his traditional views--but he isn't running for office, he isn't the head of the RNC, and he doesn't have dictatorial powers.

When's the last time you saw some woman crying and mouthing the words "I love you" in the presence of Limbaugh?

Me neither.

Whole lotta projectin' goin' on.
