Books: Note to self...

Sitting on the porch reading the memoirs of soldiers on the Eastern Front in WWII when it's 25 degrees out doesn't make it feel any warmer... Brrr...

I can read HMS Ulysses by Maclean, be sitting on the porch in 85 degree weather and still feel the need to get a jacket or blanket.

I was watching Battlefield Detectives where they did a show onStalingrad. Interesting stuff on hbow each of the two armies dealt with the cold. It was so cold that the lube in the guns froze. The russians mixed gasoline with their lube and their guns didn't freeze.
