same thing for Laverda. Primary output was agricultural equipment.
On first view, that disparity of products seems odd, but a look around the world shows it to be rather normal. Ford built airplanes and tractors, for instance. Kawasaki Heavy Industries: motorcycles and ships. Mitsubishi: Planes and trucks. List goes on and on.
Supposedly he was at a formal dinner hosted by Commendatore Ferrari, who made the rather loud comment that Sr. Lamborghini made very fine equipment for farming and construction, but it required a true engineer to build a quality high performance automobile. Sr. Lamborghini stood up, threw down his serviette, stormed from the room, and the Lamborghini high performance autos were the result.
They way I heard it was wealthy Mr Lamborghini was a customer of Enzo's and was mildly irked by a niggling reliability issue. When he brought it to Mr Ferrari's attention (along with a cheap, simple fix) Ferrari dismissed him with a derisive comment about tractors.
And thousands of Asian-Americans have scissor doors on their hotrod Hondas.

Thank you for my new desktop wallpaper.
Any John Deere M's there?
staghounds,
It's odd that a tractor and HVAC manufacturing company's name is best known to the world for its founder's eccentric sports car hobby, no?
But it was pretty obvious what country your were in by looking at the tractors: There weren't any Mahindras, Kubotas, or ARGOs present. ;)
mustanger,
Oh, yes. I don't have any specific pictures of one, though. :(
Got an LA and a 720 diesel, though!
I sold my dad's 720 gas last year at my machinery sale. I think it brought $5, 700....
All the Best,
