'Tis the season...

The top was down on the roadster today.

Sitting on the porch, I watched a fellow Broad Riparian pedal by on her fender'n'chainguard-equipped City Bike, a loaf of French bread in the handlebar basket, canvas grocery bags on the back, and daughter trailing behind on her own bike.

Out in the blogosphere, Xavier has started bicycle commuting again.

I have the urge to get the cycle out of the garage and go feel smugly superior to Prius drivers in the checkout line at the Fresh Market.

You can do the smug on so many levels, too. You're more intelleigent, so you don't believe in the AGW hoax, you didn't vote O, and you understand what he's done is asinine, and you are saving money and getting exercise, which is the best purpose of riding, etc. etc. etc.

You need to work up to this, though. You could sprain your smug gland.

I'm still digging out from last week's three feet of snow. So, y'know, thanks for that.

I wonder if the Antis would implode at the apparent incongruity of Tam going green by pedaling while Openly Carrying a firearm?

With or without the Blackwater cap? :)

Today it's the black "contractor cap" with the Subdued Desert U.S. flag patch velcroed to the front (only because I don't have a subdued Gadsden flag patch.)

It's snowing here in North-East PA.

That is all.

Rode the Trek yesterday and today.

Slowly . . . .

Not bad given we still have snow on the ground here in ND.

Not to rub it in, but we're in week four or so of decent pedaling weather here in Central Fl; of course, our definition of "decent" may be different from everyone else's.

You may relish the 50s, we abhor them because 50 is only 18 degrees above freezing. We've been much colder here than normal this winter, forcing me into the winter jacket much more than usual on the motorcycle.

Then again, by 4/20 we'll be whining about the heat all the way to October and looking for volunteers to join us for the hurricanes in August....

Tam,
I'm surprised you don't pedal-push a recumbent. Isn't the Infinity still made in Mooresville?
Biking is best on a 'bent.

Yet oddly enough, there was a good 1/8" of solid ice on my motorcycle seat in Seattle this morning.

I feel a disturbance in the force...

Fie on Fresh Market! The one we have here no longer stocks Bert Grant IPA, the which substance caused me to fall over halfway through the comment party in honor of my birthday at The Donovan's place.

Thanks for the great link. Already sent it off to someone I know who was looking for a Gadsden flag, patches, and bumper stickers. It's all there in one place. The subdued patches *are* pretty cool!

Are the roads to the market a little rough?
