I'm playing Civilization II on the old Mac Performa. Gunsmith Bob's leafing through a magazine...
Me: *snort!*
Gunsmith Bob: "What's so funny?"
Me: "The ambassador from the Persian emperor says I should be punished for my insolence."
Gunsmith Bob: "Sometimes I think you should be punished for your insolence."
Me: "Good luck with that to both of you; I just invented ironclads."

Ironclads? Hah. They might get you to the doorstep but Riflemen await beyond.
I think I have spent more hours playing Civ II than I have playing any other strategy anything. Wasted hours, some will think. But they have never blasted swordsmen out of Rome with a cadre of tanks.
Ambassador from the Persian emperor?
Come on, this screams for "THIS - IS - SPARTA!!!"
I hear the second expansion for Civ IV is due out in a few days....
(The original Civ is still the only computer game that has kept me up all night, though.)
