Becoming a dictatorship, but only half-fast.

Pugsley's mandatory finking law was thwarted by thousands of angry marchers who took to the street in protest of attempts to shut down opposition candidates, as well as chanting against the aforementioned law that made rolling over for the national security police compulsory.

Hitler never had it so rough...

Aw come on, don't think that was anything odd.

Protest like that are normal in Caracas and you just get used to it. This might have been a bit bigger then usual, but we used to get protests like that on a routine basis. Unions used to have marches like this all of the time and we would just stand by and let them go.

When I was there we used to have to deal with various protests and security crackdowns as part of routine life. We saw one coming up by the mall by the airport and we just looped around and went back in for dinner. No point in standing in the sun when you can eat and let the protesters go by.

You just plan on these things taking a bit longer then normal to get back to the apartment at night.

Hugo backs Barrack Obama for the U.S. presidency. Relations with the U.S. will worsen if McCain is elected, he says. Obama may chat with Hugo depending on what direction the wind changes. I can see them meeting, exchanging red shirts, and becoming fast friends. Maybe Raoul Castro and Daniel Ortega will join them for brunch.
