Leafing through this month's issue of SWAT Magazine, I notice that next month there will be a review of the Awerbuck course I attended last summer. I hope there are no pics of me looking old and fat in the background.
(Erick Gelhaus reviewed the Guncrafter Industries .50 GI Glock conversion and, without coming out and saying "it sucks", basically said it sucks. This joins Denny Hansen's Nighthawk Custom review and Louis Awerbuck's Benelli M4 review as some of my favorite moments in gun review journalism...)

I'm don't think it's physically possible for you to look old and fat.
I'll be looking for the magazine on the news stand. It's not something I usually read, but maybe this time. :-)
Now I have to go read the the M-4 review. Those things sound interesting.
SWAT is the best magazine out there if you're more interested in the software than the hardware.
I can read reviews of the newest Taurus revolver anyplace, but Pat Rogers only contributes to one magazine.
Seven decades ago, my 100 year old grandmother said "age is a state of mind." I have found that to be true.
As true as her other observation that "If you don't think about him, Father Time does not pay as much attention to you." I cannot vouch for that - but the people who worry the least about time are the ones who seem the youngest.
As far as "fat" is concerned, I have yet to find a man who did not much prefer a lap full of 150 pounds of curves to one partially occupied with 100 pounds of nerves.

Can I get an Amen?

I too read that Gelhaus article and literally cheered aloud. Bring the truth, and let the chips fall where they may.
If Guncrafter responds with a working model, I'll bet that Gelhaus would be tickled to give that one a positive. But if it sucks, it sucks. There were a couple of other great articles in this issue. Rich and Denny have really got this show on the road.

Preach it Brother!
Bony women give me bruises.
I gave myself a subscription to SWAT magazine when I graduated SWAT school (go figure). Now that I'm retired I find myself reading it as soon as I get it and paying more attention to what the authors are actually saying.
Cops. Color me compunctious.
