Boomsticks: In 9mm AR news...

It has become my considered opinion that while the polymer ProMags may be fine for plinking & range use, I'm very happy that I came off the ducats for a few Colt mags just in case I ever need to use this thing for anything mission-critical.

Also, Magpuls are nice on 5.56 mags, but darn near necessary on 9mm sticks.

I dig the promags. But those colt mags are slick in that they drop free from the magwell without having to yank them. I guess the promags expand a bit since they're plastic.

Which leads to a problem: Apparently some have expanded enough to pop their seams when left loaded.

I play with mine at the range, but the one in the gun at home is a Colt.

Why on earth would a ProMag plastic mag have a seam anyways? Step into the 70's man, one-piece pressure extrusions...

I keep wanting to take the 9mm plunge, but the mag issues always scare me away.

Mag issues! Sheesh, try dealing with the 7.62x39 in a Colt. I figured out how to load more than 7, and get them to feed. But, when I left them loaded, the spot welds broke! Milspec, not Colt. Not sure I want to chance a Colt mag. Guess I'll have to seam weld the damn things.
