Joe says the March '09 ParaUSA pinup is nonfunctional.
Me?
I'm not so sure it's not just the camera angle. It can be hard to tell if the thumb safety is ground for clearance looking from above...
(Ooh, look at my thumbnail! Can you tell we're cleaning guns this AM?)
UPDATE FOR JOE:
I'm not discounting what he's saying, because he could be right; I just think it's hard to tell for sure from the angle in the photo...

now that is what I like to see. . . a gun that has obviously been used. Someday I will get my hands on a 1911. . .
I updated my post with more pictures and words to support my claim.
I could be wrong, but I am going to need some more convincing.
And I would like to see more light on picture of your safety to see the relief cut. The relief cut on the picture in question, if it exists, would have to be smaller than the one on Caleb's gun.
What's real funny is that in between blackwater and me getting the gun, the tip of the ambi safety was ground down to a nub. I should post a picture of it some time.
...and in between Blackwater and me getting the gun, mine grew an ambi. :D
I'm still trying to get Crimson Trace to make the laser grips in slim grips.
Thanks for the picture with the better lighting. It does appear to have less relief cut into it than the Para's Caleb and (especially) I have. You have increased my doubt but I'm not convinced.
I sent an email to Kerby asking him to settle the issue for us.
I'll post something when/if I get an answer.
Thanks again.
Kerby says:
"From the camera angle you can not see that the safety is relieved on the bottom side. The SX745S which is the March 2009 Special Edition pistol can be ordered with or without the Crimson Trace Laser grips. The ones that are ordered with the Crimson Trace Laser grips will have the right bottom side of the safety modified. And that is why the Crimson Trace Laser grips are coming factory installed as an option so we can make sure the safety works with them."
Wouldn't be the first time a model turned out to be not completely functional. I still get people wandering into the face of the laser mine wanting to know if we have a working widgit that they can lookat/fondle/vivisect. Standard reply is now "If it works we shippit."
