It's 0500 here and we JUST stumbled off the bus from the range.
Tired, sore, hungry...
Maybe something after I've had a nap.
I'll note that shooting a Mk 46 with a FLIR thermal imaging sight at toastily illuminated targets when it's darker than three feet up a well-digger's butt is tons o' fun.
Also, protip: Midnight 3-Gun Invitational is... er... something of a challenging intro to 3-Gun, which is a fancy way of saying that thus far, I'm sucking pond water.
Now I'm taking my too-small boots off and putting my weary dogs in the tub and then bed.

You shut up with the apologizing and go have a blast. We'll happily wait for the free ice cream.
Just keep repeating your new mantra, WE OWN THE NIGHT!
Sleep tight.
Gerry
Night fires are lots of fun....but not really that funny when the tracers are coming back at you as well.
(Envy, envy, envy...)
Glad you're having a good time!
With FLIR you don't need the tracers. That would be some fun stuff right there.
Have a good time. The boots will fit better in a few days.
...And simply being chosen to compete in the same group with guys like Frank W. James -- who hunts wild hogs in the dark for fun -- is a mark of distinction!
Sounds like fun! Now...just remember to remove aforementioned dogs from the tub before bed.
Have FUN! :-) Were the SAWs set up 1 in 5?
As a SAW gunner, I wholly approve. Fun times.
rifle with NVGs and an IR laser is a hoot as well, if they offer you a chance to play with that take it.
Hope you're having fun!
Heah J basically hit my comment, but I was also wondering when the SAW was good for 3 gun?
Since you're in PDX, make sure someone takes you to Powell's. More hippies than a happy-stick Glock mag has rounds for, but the coolest bookstore in the known universe. Sorry if all the cool gun books are gone, I was there last week.
Dang, Ma'am, you really are an hopeless Gun Nerd, and I honor you for that.
M'self, I keep an old (large) revolver near the bedside, but reserve most of my attention for my more chronic, severe, Special Interests (autistic perseverations), such as band music and model airplanes.
Say, Tam, do you know where I can get a good deal on a Cox PeeWee .020?
Cox PeeWee .020?
I might have one of those stashed away in a box somewhere. I'll take a look next time I'm home.
John Mosby,
"Sorry if all the cool gun books are gone, I was there last week."
Thankfully you missed that nice copy of Hatcher's Textbook of Pistols and Revolvers! :D
Powell's was truly amazing, and it's a damned good thing it's not in driving distance for me. :o
Let us know when you need your next beating.
The Midgets
Damn! I did miss that one, and I'd have been on it like stink on....well...ya know....I'm with you though, when I did live within driving distance, I was perpetually broke. I do love Powells. Glad you enjoyed it.
ND,
JM
The only model airplane I managed to shoot down at the Wikieup shoot fell to a Mark 46 Model 0 graciously provided by Eric from VLTOR. The damn thing is a perfect bullet hose, light yet controllable.
Yes, the MK46 with VAS gear is quite fun.
