Hate to say it, but they have had exploding flashlights in the Phoenix area. Someone picks it up, turns it on, and Boom, you're now less able to manipulate a pencil. All the others were yellow, though. Either he switched his MO or this is a copycat prank.
yup low grade / low tech / low yield IED flashlights have been making the rounds in Pheonix.
