The gun that's made of Want.

Caleb had a post up yesterday extolling the virtues of the about-to-no-longer-be-vaporware Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22.

I'm not sure there are words in the English language for how badly I want one of these handy little deuce-deuce AR trainers. Especially because they use conventional AR controls on the lower, unlike the Colt/Umarex effort, which has a 180° safety and is therefore made of fail.

Sadly, those of us trapped behind the Red Curtain are limited to 10 round magazines, which kinda takes the fun all out of an inexpensive trainer...

Depending on the street price, though, I might be tempted to grab one rather than a 10/22...

The MA compliant one is going to street for sub-$500 beans.

I have been thinking about an extended cocking handle for my 10/22 to make it more AK like.

I have been hoarding 7.62x39 so the 10/22 has been forced into service practicing reloads from my chest rig.

Nothing wrong with a fire selector on an AR that swings through 180 degrees, just so long as it ends up on "Group Therapy" when it gets there!

Yes, but one that doesn't is useless as a trainer.

They had some at the H&H Dealer Days over the weekend. Nice looking rifles, price they had on them was $495.
