Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg...

Happy Christmas Eve to one and all who celebrate the forthcoming holiday, the high holy day of both Christians and Capitalists.

Watch out for patches of black global warming on the road when driving over the river and through the woods to grandma's house, y'all. No ice here in Indy, though. Santa heard me say "white Christmas" and the old geezer apparently thought I said "wet Christmas". Quelle pisser.

Hey là, buon amico! Poiché è la stagione meravigliosa di dare, sareste un grande amico e cantereste me quella canzone favorita del Natale, Dominick l'asino?

Just to poke the bruise though; It's both white and dry out here in God's Country. Yesterday's little snow still decorates the landscape but is almost completely gone from the streets and roads

Tom Lehrer's song about the commercialization of Christmas has yet to be excelled, and he wrote/sang that some sixty years ago. Probably on the Web, somewhere.

Me, I'll just sit around and remember the Old Daze when the relatives would all gather for the traditional turkey'n'dressing and all that. Old folks, middle folks and young folks.

"Yes, Virginia, there were times and places where Saturday Evening Post covers really were real."

Nollaig Feshona Dhuit from us creatures laagered up between N'Yawk and Baastin. You've built an amazing online community, extended family actually, and we're all the richer for the connection.

Always in your debt Tam. Something about big oaks and acorns. Merry Christmas and the best of new years.

Merry X-mas to you and yours from Baumholder, Germany!

I've the best of both worlds, snow on the ground and cold rain in the air.

You know how capitalists celebrate Christmas?

They hold hands `round the cash register singing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus"!

We're about to have approximately the third white Christmas since we were a Republic.

Maybe it's a harbinger.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Merry Christmas, Tam, Roberta, and all commenters of good will. :-)

We have snow (well, a little) here now, but it's supposed to be 49 and rainy tomorrow.

Tam, trade you: right now there's a bleepload of global warmening slicking up the roads and blowing all over the damn place in Oklahoma. I'd trade that for some rain and warmer temps, I think.

Strangely, we're building on a quarter inch of the white stuff on the ground here in Texas.

Merry Christmas, friend. Take it as you like, but the greeting is sent with warmth. I'll holla atcha in a bit.

No new global warming on the ground here, but we got two or three inches yesterday. Just enough to make it look like winter without making too much of a mess of things, and enough that the kids will be able to take their GT snow racers (if those haven't been banned) out on the hill tomorrow morning.

Merry Christmas, or whichever alternative you'd prefer,

Jim

Merry Christmas!

After blowing last nights 9" of white Christmas out of the driveway I looked up to see four deer walking down the middle of our suburban street. I guess their usual paths in the nearby woods were too snowed in. Forecast is 9 more inches tonight and 4-7" tomorrow before the wind kicks up and starts blowing it around.

I think I'll cut them both some slack. Their way of life (and ours) is at considerable risk right now.

To the degree that Christians look on Christmas as a yearly affirmation of some remaining goodness in people and the world, I'm all for it and them.

And to the degree that eeevil profiteering capitalists take advantage of a ready market for their goods and use the proceeds to pay their own way in the world, I'm all for them too.

Merry Christmas to you and all who enjoy your talents here, Tam.

Hope Santa found you, Tam, and hey, thanks for sending all your blind deaf octogenarians flying down here in their Buicks at 70 mph only to park them at 30 in the left lane of all the main roads around here.
