MMmmmmm...!!!

After shooting today (more on which later) I went with my friend to Scotty's Brewhouse in West Lafayette and had the most awesomest appetizer evar: Deep-fried dill pickle slices with horseradish sauce for dippin'. Crack cocaine pales in the addictiveness department by comparison...

I had some of those last Saturday with LawDog and Ambulance Driver. Yum. Deep fried pickle slices. But we didn't get horseradish sauce. We wuz robbed.

At a function I attended not long ago they served deep fried, battered jalapeno slices and I recall using the crack analogy with those also. The quantity I consumed also made itself known on the way OUT of my digestive system...and I'd still do it again!

You lived in Tennessee HOW long without having fried pickles?

Those sound good and I also really like the battered jalapenos (but prefer the whole ones stuffed with cheese--rellenos style). I would like to try the fried dill pickles at the Scotty's in Indy but they don't serve them. However, I will be in Lafayette at the end of the month so thanks for the pointer and the recommendation.

There's a Scotty's on 96th St east of Keystone Ave. They have an aged steak that is amazing.

Breda,

You came to mind when I turned to my dinner companion and said "You know what would make these perfect? If bacon were somehow involved..."

:D

Fried pickles.

If it weren't for the fact that there seems to be a male counterpart to this discussion, I'd guess you were pregnant or something. :P

I lived in the South for a few years and discovered those night longside my Catfish dinner. Yowza!. They were good.

I make them using tempura batter sometimes with a wasabe type hot dipping sauce.

Actually ALL the Scottys' have dill chips. And if you didnt get horsey you probably got ranch. you can ask for either! they're AMAZING.

OK, enough about the pickles. When are you going to tell us about the shooting like you promised? Quote: "more on which later."
