Intelligence failure.

No wonder the Russkies managed to slip so much stuff past us during the dark days of the Cold War. We were groping in the dark, intelligence-wise, by the Carter Era. How was America supposed to discover secret Russian satellite launches when we couldn't even figure out that the Village People were gay?

Was there a link with this rant, or is it just a rant?

A random musing generated by a bizarre dinner table conversation last night. Talking about the need for strong backs/weak minds for the truck I think triggered the lyrics to "Macho Man", or something, which led to the above...

Not ALL the Village People are/were gay. That was, of course, a disinformation ploy that worked. They were so slick the Navy let them sing "In the Navy" on one of their ships.

I think the term, "it takes a village" is meant to take advantage of the popularity of the Village People.

Please excuse me, I need to shut the barn door...

ACK! I was a crewmember of US Navy destroyer that would play "In The Navy" when we would arrive in port during our tour of Australia. Terribly humiliating.
