I woke up hungry at 1:45 and decided to check my email before wobbling off to find sustenance. Before I did, I checked my email and noticed that I'd accumulated a bit of spam in the last couple days. Double-checking my spam folder before emptying it turned up an email dated yesterday from my Dad, via one of his other email accounts.
Apparently while I was busy driving to Blackwater on Thursday, my 89-y.o. grandfather, my last grandparent, was busy taking a header onto a doorknob in his house. He broke six ribs and cracked his shoulder blade in half. Luckily he retained consciousness and his cell phone and called my mom.
While I've been busy running around having fun over the weekend, he's been busy fighting for life on a respirator in an ICU. Things are still very touch and go.
Blogging may be light for a little bit. I promise I will get back to the fun stuff ASAP. Your thoughts are appreciated.

*sends some good mojo to Tam and her Grandpa*
Bloody hell.
Best wishes to you all.
Of course, the best to your grandfather and your family. You will be in my prayers and devotions.
All The Best,

Hoping for a fast and full recovery.

Thoughts and prayers sent for you and yours.
I wish the best for your gandpa. Take care of your family and I wish you all strength to cope during this time.
I hope your grandfather makes a full recovery. Those sneaky home falls can cause all sorts of trouble. My own father suffered internal bleeding from a damaged spleen after falling off a bed. Nothing makes your blood colder than hearing your mom yell "call 911!" from the back room just as you're sitting down to eat.
You need anything, spare change, wheels, you give me a call on the cell.
I'm sorry to hear that, not the welcome home we'd all planned for you.
I didn't know that your father was from Nigeria!
Best hopes for your grandfather.
we're all here for you Tam! Goes without saying, but I said it anyway. Anything at all!

Sometimes life speaks to you in its Outdoor Voice. Good luck to him, and your family.
I hope he pulls through and makes a full recovery. If there's anything I can do for you, just say the word.
My prayers go out to you and your Grandpa.
Sorry to hear that, Tam. I'm hoping for the best.
Damn, girl, that sucks.
Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

Here's hoping your grandfather makes a good recovery, and don't worry about the blog until you're done worrying over him. We'll still be here when you get back.
Best wishes comin' your way. I'm sure you know we're all here for you anytime.
My thoughts are with you, your Grandfather, and your family.
Being nearly that old myself, I can tell you: that's some scary stuff. You take care of Grandpa. We'll wait. We'll pray.

Sending out positive vibes and good mojo... Sounds like he's a tough guy...
FWIW, my thoughts are with you. Getting old ain't for wimps, and your Grandpa sounds like he's a good long way from wimphood.
May the fates used marked cards to your benefit.
All the best to your grandpa and your family. I know he's made of tough stuff.
I'm so sorry this happened. Please accept my best wishes for your grandfather and your family. I hope he recovers fully and quickly.
Tamara.
Best wishes for your grandffather and yourself, from Australian readers.
I hope you are allowed spend a fair bit of time with him as ICU (aka Expensive Scare) can be very disturbing and disorienting. I spent a week in ICU a few years ago and family visits really helped.
Kindest regards,
Michael
Tried to post this once and got wierd computer stuff. But I hope your grandpa gets well completely and soon. If I can offer help from Central OK I'll sure try.
My best wishes and thoughts to you and your family, Tam. It isn't good to be so far away from family at times such as this. May you safely close the distance and find peace, strength and relief.
eep...best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Don't worry about us readers, just your Gramp. Hope everything turns out OK.

Godspeed for a quick recovery.
Best wishes for your grandfather (who, if he's anything like his granddaughter, should be at the "kick ass and take names" stage of recovery about now...)
If you need anything, you know where to find me.
best wishes for a speedy recovery
Good luck and speedy recovery to your grandfather.
"Luckily he retained consciousness and his cell phone and called my mom."
Damned good, for a guy his age who'd just broken ribs and shoulder blade and thumped his head. Makes be believe that he'll fight to live, and that gives one hope and pride.
Damn, hope your granddad isn't in much pain. Our thoughts and prayers, for you and yours. Take care.
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything turns out OK.
Missed seeing this before, due to the excitement involved with Gustav coming to visit. Best wishes for your gramps to have a fast recovery, Tam.
