I'm laughing at the idea...

Apparently race car driver Jimmy Johnson's rain-postponed White House visit will be going down today.

Well, they say it was "rain delayed". I think it took a couple weeks to find someone to explain NASCAR to a Hyde Park attorney.

"He's a driver you say? Whose driver? You mean there's not anybody in the back seat? No back seat? Fascinating. So this is a fuel economy competition then?"

"I say, Rahm, are you quite sure the fellow even has a chauffeur's license?"

Well, it's not like they cover Winst... er, "Sprint" Cup on NPR.

The New York Review of Books used to cover NASCAR, but they dropped it after Dale Earnhardt died.

Apparently the White House hasn't figured out that the fan base (that would include me) clings to religion and guns.

Richard Petty and ol' DW are gonna be there, too. Not what you'd find in the local Hyde Park Oprah Reading Club.

"Sorry, I can't come today. I have to change the lugnuts and air on my car tires. It's a three-day process. Call me back later, when I'm not so busy."

(And I'm ALWAYS busy)

Lemme know when King Richard and Cale Yarborough get back behind the wheel. In fact, if I were President, I'd invite those two up and we'd run go-karts around the driveway out front of the White House.
