In a very Hoosier news story that must read as though it's from another planet to a denizen of Gotham, a dude went driving around downtown Bloomington, IN yesterday, chucking thousands of dollars and then his wallet out the window of his car before checking himself in at a local hospital.
Pedestrians scooped up the cash and most of them brought it to the cop shop or the mayor's office.
"Right thing to do, I guess," said Sam Hanauer.
...
"He gets better, they can give it back to him," said Hanauer.
So, you know, welcome to flyover country.

I don't think this would be unusual in Gotham. They are pretty used to crazy people throwing money out the window, though it's usually not their own.

I'm pretty sure the hospital already has it's claws in that money, so no, he won't see it again.
Gothamites will assume the honest guys are the deranged ones.
I'm glad he decided that continuing to live was more important than freaking out about cash.
Once he gets his shit together, he should invite those folks to a BBQ.
There are still a few decent folk around here in "Gotham-lite" aka Staten Island. A friend dropped his new smartphone with cash and ID tucked in the case while bar hopping last weekend. Someone found it and dropped it in his mailbox, with the cash undisturbed.
